1. Protein Urine (PRO)
Normally is negative.
When increased, + occurs, it often means nephritis, nephropathy, urinary tract infections, kidney stones, systemic diseases involving the kidney, drug-induced kidney damage, but sometimes, fever, strenuous exercise, gestation period will also lead to positive.
2.NIT
Normally, negative.
Positive means urine tract stone, infection. If sample places too long will cause false positive.
3.PH
Normal range 4-8
Increased: Respiratory alkalosis, certain metabolic alkalosis, alkaline drugs such as sodium bicarbonate.
Decreased: Respiratory acidosis, metabolic acidosis, hypokalemic metabolic alkalosis, acidic drugs, gout
4. SG
Normal range: 1.009-1.035
Increased: Diabetes, acute nephritis, diarrhea, vomiting, fever
Decreased: Diabetes insipidus, excessive drinking, late renal failure, use of diuretics, etc.
5. KET
Normal: Negative
Positive: Diabetes, prolonged fasting, vomiting, dehydration, fever, hypothyroidism, diarrhea, or excessive intake of fat.
6. URO
Normal: Negative(-)
Increased: Abnormal liver function, intestinal obstruction, chronic constipation, increased red cell failure, acute fever
Decreased: Obstruction of bile duct, acute hepatitis, diarrhea.
8. BIL
Normal: Negative (-)
Positive: Obstructive jaundice, hepatocellular jaundice, congenital non hemolytic jaundice
9. GLU
Normal: Negative (-)
Increased: Diabetes, hyperthyroidism, chronic liver disease, adrenal cortical hyperfunction
